We last ate there on December 24 - Christmas Eve of 2025. We chose there because of the warm family atmosphere and because we had never managed to get all 6 of us home at the same time to all go together. It was a great feast of momos and noodles and all affordable for a family of six. In short, we are big fans. It’s a gem on the Danforth and one of its best restaurants.

This place is more than just good food!
My partner and I have been regulars at Momo Hut and Gardens for the past 3 years. We love their yummy and reasonably priced food (their variety of meat and vegetarian momos and noodles being our favourite!), calm ambience, and warm customer service. Because of this, we approached them earlier this winter to ask if they would host our summer wedding’s dinner reception. To our delight, Dhondup happily agreed! I wanted to share this review to showcase Momo Hut and Gardens’ amazing hospitality and delicious foods.
Everything we had at our dinner reception is available as part of their regular menu. On the day of, Dhondup and Tashi (the two owners of the restaurant) and their 3 staff worked tirelessly, were always listening to our needs, and eager to do what it takes to make our day special and run as smoothly as possible. This included:
- Arranging the tables to match our desired layout.
- Making sure there was a highchair for a baby, place for a stroller, and a table for diaper changing downstairs.
- Hooking us up with a microphone and speaker system to use for our speeches.
- Designing a soft meal specifically for my elderly dad which is not available on the regular menu.
- Accommodating diverse dietary restrictions including: celiac (gluten free), diary free, nut free, vegetarian, halal, and soft diet.
- Pushing out the food according to our schedule with no issues.
- Accommodating a family who had to leave earlier by prepacking up their desserts so they wouldn’t miss it.
Other aspects of the meal that we really enjoyed being able to offer our guests included:
- Having a gluten free option (approved by 3 celiac guests!) for every part of the menu (appetizer, soup, momos, entrée, dessert)
- Beautiful and fresh mixed meat or mixed vegetarian momos that still matched other special dietary restrictions (like gluten free/diary free/halal)
- A mountain of noodles as a shared plate at each table
- A unique and yummy chocolate momo dessert (yes, this is also available gluten free!) with ice cream that we have never seen anywhere else.
If you’re looking for family friendly Tibetan food with a homey ambience and caring staff, Momo Hut and Gardens serves this up in droves! I highly recommend visiting them for a meal. And if you’re looking to plan a group dinner or need catering for any event, don’t hesitate to chat with Dhondup and/or Tashi about it. We’re very glad we did and they made our wedding reception dinner so special. Thank you, Momo Hut and Gardens!

This place is wonderful! I have been coming to this place for over 3 years now and every time the momo’s have tasted excellent, the noodles were delicious, and the servers along with the Tibetan ambience made me feel welcome and had me walking out smiling and feeling satisfied and grateful that Dhundup and Tashi(the owners) created this restaurant to offer authentic Tibetan food at such an easy to access location within Toronto.
This restaurant makes all of their dishes from scratch, with halal, gluten-free, dairy and nut free options and is super affordable.
Favorites are the Portobello mushroom momos, their vegetarian and beef stir fry noodles and their unique chocolate dessert momo with ice cream, it is Incredible!
